Eight men have been found guilty of sexually exploiting a teenage girl, who was only 13 at the time, Pidd, H. from The Guardian said. The men started exploiting, abusing and threatening her 14 years ago. This case is part of a larger inquiry related to Alexis Jay report, which estimated that 1,400 children had been sexually abused in Rotherham between 1997 and 2013. The report indicated a number of failures which resulted in an unacceptable delay in investigating sexual abuse and rape accusations.
It is good to know that, unlike three earlier reports, Alexis Jay report was taken seriously and the officials acted on the findings.
